Your child

Pediatric advice from our medical experts

Washing your child correctly will help prevent irritations, redness and dryness.

  1. Wash her skin once a day, preferably in the evening, as the bath will help calm your child prior to sleeping.
  2. The temperature of the bath (or shower) must be between 35 and 37°C.
  3. Heat the bathroom to 22/24°C.
  4. Bathtime should be no longer than 15 minutes.
  5. Do not use ordinary soap which can cause irritations and dryness.
  6. Following bathing, carefully dry the skin and folds in the skin to prevent irritations.

Our advice for diaper changing

For your baby's comfort, you should change her whenever necessary, to avoid complications caused by dampness such as diaper rash or infections of folds in the skin (intertrigos).

  1. Change your baby as soon as she is wet, generally about 10 times a day. The number of diaper changes will decrease with age.
  2. At each diaper change, clean her buttocks well from front to back to prevent feces from coming in contact with the genitals. Then dry the genitals well to prevent risk of irritations.
  3. Cover your baby boy's penis with a cloth, to avoid a surprise sprinkling!
  4. Cover the buttocks with a thin coating of protective cream.
